The cutting torch on any plasma is one of the most important parts. All CUTMAKER models have high performance Italian made torches from the worlds leading manufacturers.
CUTMAKER 351LE-701/703LE models use our S65 torch, this is a compact torch with a flexible coaxial cable which offers high burn through resistance. The small size makes these ideal for getting into tight spaces. Its supplied as standard with long reach drag consumables; these allow you to keep the torch in contact with the metal for easy use & makes following straight edges & templates easy. These long reach torch consumables offer superb access into places most torches cannot touch, if reguired there are also short consumables available. The torch parts are all low cost compared to other quality machines on the market & there are only really 3 wear parts on the torch, electrode, tip & copper drag nozzle. The S65 torch is fitted directly into the machine as standard or quick connection central adaptor can be specified at time of order. the QC is particuarly useful for swapping torches, for instance if you with to swap from manual hand torch to CNC torch for your cutting table etc. Torches lengths are 6M standard for both manual & stright automatic versions with loner torches & torch extension cables available on request.
CUTMAKER 1001/3LE & 1303LE models use our P130 torch which has quick connect central adaptor fitted standard. The P130 is a rugged, reliable torch capable of very high power work, its fitted with high flex coaxial cable which has a burn resistance in excess of 300ºC. Standard medium length drag consumables allow good access for following templates & stright edges. Extended consumables are also available for any tight access work. The P130 torch consumables are low cost & long life, they keep working far longer than most competitors, in addition there are really only 3 wear parts, electrode, tip & copper drag. Fine cut torch parts are also available if needed for any extra fine jobs. The quick connect torch can be swapped in seconds, ideal for transferring from manual to CNC cutting tables. Torches are available in 6M or 12M lengths, both manual & stright automatic versions. In addition torch extension cables are available to give up to 20M torch length.
For all models the arc starts using only air (non HF) this means these are safe for use on vehicles & don’t interfere with IT systems.
Cutting
OXFORD Cutmaker models offer exceptional cutting performance on all metals. Our unique design gives a tightly constricted arc minimising kerf width & maximising cut capacity & speed. This also results in a very straight clean cut with minimal dross. Even on thick materials the cut will be very close to perfectly straight & with a narrow kerf. Compared with a low cost imported plasmas the performance difference is almost unbelievable. Compared to using oxy-fuel (gas bottles) cut speed can be more than 6 times as fast & with over 90% reduction in operating cost & a much nicer cut quality.
Unlike many plasma machines these models can also cut the very thinnest of metals with absolute precision, just fit fine cut tips & select a low power, cut from 0.5mm upwards.
Mechanised cutting performance is exceptional, just fit our machine torch & fit the CNC interface kit & you have the perfect machine to fit to cutting tables, fit to new CNC machines or old Burny or Westinghouse controllers, straight line cutters, robot etc. CNC interface uses the same wiring as US made machines, start signal, OK to move contact & we also have infinitely adjustable (non isolated) divided arc volts to suit all known control systems.
Metal marking
Our metal marking function allows fast clean marking of metals for both automated & manual use. Mark drill points, fold marks, add your logo, date code, ID, etc. The 14A-25A (17-25A on 1001LE & above models) range is ideal for everything from 1mm material up. Unlike competitors’ products we use standard cut consumables, so move from cutting to marking in a second!
Thermal gouging
Cutmaker 1000 & 1300 models give great gouging performance from small light jobs right up to the heaviest job. The arc stretch on all our models is unbeatable, the 1300 model will stretch up to 75mm giving you smoother finishes & better control. Remove welds, wear plates, create weld preps, etc. Can also be used for automated gouging with robots or Gullco carriages & tractors.
Thermal heating
A fast source of direct heat for manual use, mainly to assist with the removal of seized nuts, bearings, & light preheating jobs. This function provides around 2kw (351-701/3LE) or 2.7kw on 1001/3LE-1303LE models of intense instant heat far hotter than propane or butane torches produce. It’s also a more direct & controllable heat so heats only the item you need heating & the cooling air keeps everything else at a low temperature. For instance when removing seized nuts propane torches tend to heat the nut & bolt, Cutmaker plasmas will heat the nut & leave the bolt relatively cool, allowing the nut to be removed quicker.
The following are typical times to heat nuts to cherry red colour. M5 – 3 secs, M6 – 5 secs, M8 – 8 secs, M10 – 14 secs, M12 – 20 secs, M16 – 28 secs.
In addition, thermal heating function is particularly good for use to bend plastic sheets & can be used for plastic welding.
